Plans with no row anywhere in the CMS 2027 file. Members are summed across the New Mexico counties where CMS reports a count. Plans re-issued under a new ID appear here and as "new" on the county pages.

What a member of an ending plan does next

  1. Keep the letter. A non-renewing plan must notify you by mail at least 90 days before it ends (42 CFR § 422.506), on or about October 2 for December 31.
  2. Choose between October 15 and December 7 so new coverage starts January 1 (Medicare.gov): another Advantage plan, or Original Medicare with a drug plan and, if you want it, Medigap.
  3. The Medigap door is open: Plan A, B, D, G, K or L with no health questions, from 60 days before to 63 days after the plan ends, November 1, 2026 through March 4, 2027 (Medicare.gov).
  4. If you miss December 7, a discontinued plan gives you a Special Enrollment Period through February 28 (42 CFR § 422.62), with January spent in Original Medicare.

How we know all this: the Medicare On Main Data Desk built these pages from the CMS CY2026 and CY2027 landscape files compared by Contract Plan ID, CMS's September 2026 county-level enrollment report, and the federal rules and Medicare.gov pages on non-renewal notices, enrollment periods and Medigap guaranteed-issue rights. Carrier names are factual reporting, not endorsement or criticism. This is education, not advice; confirm plans, costs and eligibility with a licensed agent or Medicare.gov.

Frequently asked questions

Which Medicare Advantage plans are ending in New Mexico for 2027?

18 general (non-Special-Needs) Medicare Advantage plans sold somewhere in New Mexico in 2026 have no row anywhere in the CMS 2027 plan file and are being discontinued, led by Presbyterian Senior Care Plan 2 with Rx (H3204-001), Blue Cross Medicare Advantage Select (H3251-002), Blue Cross Medicare Advantage Dental Premier (H1666-016). Other plans continue elsewhere but left particular counties. The county pages list each one with its 2026 premium, cap, star rating and September 2026 enrollment.

How many New Mexico counties are affected?

31 of the 33 counties with a Medicare Advantage plan in 2026 or 2027 lose at least one general plan for 2027; 31 lose a plan that is discontinued everywhere. 2 counties keep every 2026 plan.

How many people in New Mexico are on a plan that is ending?

Summing CMS's September 2026 county enrollment for every ending plan in every county gives 61,946 members, not counting counties where CMS suppresses a plan's count because it is under 11. The figure includes employer-group members, so the number of individuals choosing a new plan is somewhat lower.

What should I do if my plan is on the list?

Keep the non-renewal letter dated on or about October 2. Choose 2027 coverage between October 15 and December 7: another Medicare Advantage plan, or Original Medicare with a stand-alone drug plan and, if you want it, a Medigap policy. A plan leaving Medicare or your area gives you a guaranteed-issue right to Medigap Plan A, B, D, G, K or L from 60 days before to 63 days after it ends, November 1, 2026 through March 4, 2027.
