Plans & Coverage
Medicare Supplement (Medigap) Plans
Medicare Supplement (Medigap) works alongside Original Medicare to pay your share of costs — the deductibles, copays, and 20% coinsurance that Original Medicare leaves you. Unlike Medicare Advantage, Medigap has no networks: you can see any doctor or hospital in the country that accepts Medicare. It does not include drug coverage, so most people pair it with a standalone Part D plan.
The popular plans: G and N
Plan G is the most comprehensive widely-available plan — after the small annual Part B deductible, it covers essentially all of your Original Medicare cost-sharing. Plan N trades a slightly lower premium for small copays at the doctor and ER. We compare the standardized plans and carrier prices we offer in your area, because the coverage is identical by law — only the price differs.
Provider freedom is the point
Medigap's biggest draw is go-anywhere access: no networks, no referrals, and coverage that travels with you across all 50 states. For clients who split time between Grand Junction and Moab, snowbird out of state, or want a specialist at a distant hospital, that freedom is worth the higher premium.
Your one guaranteed window
When you first enroll in Part B at 65 you get a 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period with guaranteed acceptance — no health questions, no denials. After that window, switching Medigap plans usually requires medical underwriting, so timing is critical. We make sure you don't miss it.
Medigap vs Medicare Advantage
Medigap means a higher monthly premium, near-total provider freedom, and predictable costs, but no drug coverage or extras. Advantage means a lower or $0 premium, a network, copays, and bundled drugs and extras. The right path depends on your health, travel, and budget — we lay out both plainly.

Questions, answered
Can I switch to Medigap later?
You get a 6-month Medigap Open Enrollment Period when you first enroll in Part B at 65, with guaranteed acceptance. After that, switching usually requires health underwriting and you could be declined. We'll tell you exactly what your window is.
Does Medigap cover prescriptions?
No. Medigap doesn't include drug coverage — you add a standalone Part D plan. We set both up together so you're not left with a gap or a penalty.
Are all Plan G policies the same?
The coverage is standardized by law, so every carrier's Plan G pays the same benefits — but premiums can differ a lot between carriers for identical coverage. We shop the price for you.
Is Medigap worth it if I'm healthy?
Many healthy clients choose Medigap precisely to lock in guaranteed acceptance and predictable costs while they qualify, since underwriting can make it harder to get later. We help you weigh it against Advantage.
